Technical Release Manager

Description
The Steam platform is one of the fastest growing multimedia digital distribution platforms in the industry today. The Steam Release Manager is one step away from millions of customers, delivering top-tier entertainment on a daily basis. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of software product build/release concepts and practices, excellent technical knowledge and exceptional customer service skills.

Responsibilities
Coordinate the release of games and game updates on Steam
Communicate and work with publishers to prepare their Steam releases
Work with the Steam Publishing team (legal, marketing, support) to effectively release games and promotions on Steam
Utilize Valve’s internal tools to prepare game packages and other products for release
Define and add new features to internal tools, install scripts, and the Steam client as necessary to serve individual game releases
Manage third-party product keys for all games on Steam
Work with third-party developers to integrate Steamworks
Monitor information coming from support, sales, and public forums
Define ways to make publishing on Steam more efficient and then help implement those improvements

Required Qualifications
Must be highly technical and have strong analytical skills
Experience working within the software development industry, especially the game industry is highly desirable
Ability to juggle/manage multiple projects at once, be self-directed and self-motivated
Partner and business development experience is highly desirable
Excellent oral and written communications skills are a must
Strong working knowledge of software development practices and technologies (e.g. C++/Python/SQL) required
